Modern Matters reserves the right to deny or terminate access to, and/or delete
all information posted to the Web site by any user that does not comply with

Protection Security and Integrity of Your Information on Modern Matters
Modern Matters treats our data as assets that must be protected against loss
and unauthorized access. We use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, a
secure server, and security protocol to safeguard the information you provide
to us. The SSL protocol allows us to receive information that your Web browser
encrypts and transmits to us. SSL encryption technology is designed to prevent

Information Collected when a User Browses the Site
In general, you can visit Modern Matters on the World Wide Web without telling

interactive services require that users identify themselves in order to enable
the interactive function. Modern Matters will always alert the user when we are

Modern Matters uses WebTrends Live to analyze traffic to this web site.
WebTrends Live does not create individual profiles for visitors. Unlike some
tracking services WebTrends Live does not have a database of individual

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track users
movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP
addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
We may monitor your use of this service and use or disclose any information so
gathered to both satisfy any law, regulation or other government request and to
operate the service properly and efficiently. For example, we may retain
information about packages, including names and addresses, so that we can
provide proof of delivery information and to process claim requests. All
marketing information shall be subject, in all cases, to compliance with the

Message Boards
You may participate in one or more of our bulletin/Message Board services.
Modern Matters may pose questions or topics for discussion on the Community
Message Boards and Community members may have portions of their answers posted
on the Community Message Boards. The postings are attributed by member name
(which need not be your actual name.)
You are not required to submit personally identifiable information in this
area. However, if you would like to receive e-mail notifications, you will have
to submit an actual email address (see Updates, Advertisements, Newsletters,
Current Events for more information.) Also, you may submit
"optional" information to tell other message board users about
yourself. Finally, children should not post any information that will
personally identify them on any Community Message Board.
We do not read and screen replies before they are posted. However, If
we, in our sole discretion, deem a message posted on a Community Message Board
to be in violation of this Privacy Policy, the User Agreement or otherwise
inappropriate, we reserve the right to delete the content and take any other
steps we deem appropriate, which may include terminating the member's account
or restricting access to portions of our Web site.
Updates, Advertisements, Newsletters, Current Events
Newsletters
Modern Matters provides a monthly newsletter describing new activities and
promotions available on the Web site. The newsletter is emailed approximately
once a week to those who subscribe to it. In order to subscribe to the
newsletter, users must provide their email address. Email addresses collected
for newsletter subscriptions will not be used for any other purpose, unless you
have specifically authorized us to share this information.
In addition, Special Offers and Site and Service Updates (such as new or
current events, products, services and system changes that we think may be of
interest) may be included in the Newsletters.
Modern Matters also sends emails to users who:

Cookie Technology

Review, Modification, And Deletion Of Personal Information
Participants at Modern Matters can review, modify, or delete the information
previously provided in the Membership Area by editing their Profile
information. Review, add, and delete functions are also options within the
Community Message Board Areas. Users should note that Modern Matters will use
reasonable efforts to delete user information when requested but that some
residual information may remain because of backup files and deletion logs.
Policies Regarding The Use Of Modern Matters By Children
Modern Matters will not provision orders from children under the age of 13, and
will use best efforts to determine age. If Modern Matters receives an order for
goods or services from a child under 13 years old, Modern Matters will reject
the order. In addition, children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use
other areas of Modern Matters such as Message Boards.
Your Consent
By using Modern Matters, you consent to the Modern Matters privacy policy and
terms of use. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we
collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. We reserve
the right, at our discretion, to, modify, add, or remove portions of this

Order Forms
Our site occasionally uses an order form for customers to request information,
products and services. We collect visitors' contact information (i.e., name,
email address, and shipping information) and financial information (i.e.,
account or credit card numbers.) If we have trouble processing an order, this
contact information is used to get in touch with the user.
User's Contact Information
Contact Information is used to send customers orders, and information about our
company, and to send promotional material from some of our partners to our
customers. The customer's contact information may also used to get in touch

correspondence through the postal service or use the telephone to speak
directly to our employees. We are not responsible for the security or
confidentiality of communications you send to us through the Internet using the
e-mail process.
What Can You Do As A Customer To Help Maintain Security?
Utilize the latest version of Netscape and/or Microsoft Explorer to browse
Modern Matters. Our site is most secure when using one of these browsers. Keep
your UserID & PASSWORD confidential. Utilize a PASSWORD unique to you and
change it frequently. Make sure others are not watching you enter your UserID
and/or PASSWORD on your keyboard when entering your UserID and/or PASSWORD.
When entering a section of our Site that requires you to log in, do not leave
your computer unattended while logging on to our Site. After you've finished
accessing your information, exit that section of the site. This ensures that no
one can access your policy information if you leave your computer and your
session has not been timed out.
